With a long and colorful history of Southern hospitality in Lexington, let the Hicklin family host your group at Ryland House. Located on Main Street, our quiet, cheerful home is walking distance to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Ryland House, a jewel of Neoclassic Revival design, was built in late 1911 by Dr. Caius Tacitus Ryland, one of Lexington’s most beloved family doctors, and his wife, Betty Belle. The house underwent renovation from 1999-2001; the home has three full bathrooms, all completely renovated, as well as five lovely guest rooms decorated in the delightful colors of Scandinavia. Guests may relax in front of the fireplace in winter, the front porch in mild weather, or enjoy a book in the new reading room.

Wonderful Civil War Sesquicentennial Weekend, rain and all! The Teepee was great! Camping done right. I am sure my son will be requesting a follow up trip soon.

What a nice, big, fun house you have! In less than 24 hours, we have survived a storm together, taken tours of your historic properties, eaten all your food (by the way, you can cook anything), and had fun playing games. You rock, Man (or Lady)!

Thank you so much for your generous hospitality. Our family had such a great time at the Ryland House. John Francis probably had the most fun. Thank you for playing with him and entertaining him! This was by far the best prize we bid on and won (at Ozanam Charity).

Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will be sure to tell our folks what a great job you’ve done with Marjorie’s and Helen’s home.

We had a very nice stay at your bed and breakfast and greatly appreciated you willingness to make arrangements for us to stay on such short notice. The Library was perfect for us – it is a lovely room- the night before, we stayed in a motel that had not been very well maintained – it was so bad that we did not even shower there. This experience made us appreciate our stay at Ryland House even more!!

Just wanted to thank you for your hospitality as well as your sweet mom’s. Your home is just beautiful and cozy. The food was fabulous and yes…what a posh bed and breakfast tucked away in Lexington, MO. We are so glad to have found you for the convenience to our cadet across the way (at Wentworth).

Thanks for hosting J’s family during our wedding week. They really loved Lexington – even more than San Francisco! What with the snow and your B&B, it was a special experience. Until the next occasion…

This was a perfect place for a reunion. Six of us from five different states met here for a Girls Reunion. We have known each other for sixty years having gone to Kindergarten, Grade School, and Girl Scouts together. The Living room was great for visiting. Thanks so much.

This was my first B&B experience and surely the best! The history, not only here at Dr. Ryland's but the town's civil war history is profound. We were so fortunate to experience it for ourselves.

It was our lucky day when we were given the Ryland House name and number! Thank goodness, you had room for us. This has been a very special experience for us. You have graciously provided a beautiful environment within the walls of your home. What a gift that is to share with all who stay here. We loved our room, The Library, and the delicious breakfasts. Already we are anticipating our time in Lexington a year from now. Thanks for everything!
